Brandy & Coke

DJ Q, the DJ behind BBC Radio 1Xtra’s UK Garage show
and a great producer in his own right, has taken chopped up
samples of vocals from Brandy tracks and mixed them together
with UK Garage basslines to create “Brandy & Coke.”

The b-side to this white label release JD & Coke
is backed by an even deeper bassline... preview both below.

Spruced Up Soul - The Orchard Times

I have just started doing music posts for a great online magazine The Orchard Times
the first installment features a handful of edits & remixes sampling
old-school soul, R&B and Motown sounds with gloriously groovy results.

From uplifting, bouncy house music inspired by Dusty Springfield & Marvin Gaye, to
disco-tinged Aloe Blacc & Stevie Wonder, to funky jungle sampling James Brown.
